WALL #1 (desinstalação), 2011

Acção prolongada/projecto de instalação (projecto tangencial da EXD'11), de 28 de Setembro a 27 de Novembro de 2011 no Tribunal da Boa Hora (Chiado).

Mais do que o mural resultante da justaposição de postais – aparentemente idênticos, mas individualizados no reverso – a acção de longa duração da instalação (por parte do artista) e a sucessiva desinstalação (por parte do visitante) são a imagem resultante em Wall. A forma padronizada sofre constante transformação desde o começo da acção de instalação até que dela reste apenas a sua memória e documentação. Este projecto funciona como uma máquina em que se todas as engrenagens são visíveis. É um convite à simetria entre acção e reacção através da participação activa de quem visita.

Na sala encontram-se materiais de apoio à acção e é apresentado o custo de produção de cada módulo do padrão. O visitante pode escolher as parcelas (postais) que deseja retirar da parede e contribuir para que o artista deixe de ser o mecenas. Ao ser concluída a acção de desinstalação, o trabalho terá um custo zero para o artista.

More than the Wall resulting from the juxtaposition of postcards – apparently identical, but individualized in reverse – the long duration action of of the installation (by the artist) and subsequent un-installation (by the visitor) are the resulting image on Wall. The standardized form undergoes constant transformation since the beginning of the action of installation until it remains only its memory and documentation. This Project works like a machine in which all gears are visible. It is an invitation to the symmetry between action and reaction through the active participation of visitors.

In the room there are materials to support the action and it is visible the production cost of each module of the standard. The visitor can choose the parts (postcards) he wants to remove from the wall and he can contribute for the artist ceases to be the patron. When the uninstall action is finished, the work will have a zero cost to the artist.
